E-Sig is a reference guide to electronic signatures — the law that governs them, the technology behind them, and the practical decisions involved in using them. It is written for the person who has to get a document signed and needs to know what actually matters.

IT Focus is a managed technology services company. We publish this guide because electronic signature questions come up constantly in the course of IT and compliance work, and the available explanations tend to be either marketing material or unreadable statutes.

How the content is produced

Every page is written from primary sources — the statutes themselves, published regulatory guidance, and vendor documentation — rather than from summaries of summaries. Where a topic is jurisdiction-specific, we say so and tell you how to verify it rather than publishing a table that will be wrong within a year.

We do not publish invented case citations, invented statistics, or rounded-up claims about what a platform can do.
